American painter and illustrator (1842–1924) best known for his images of animal subjects. Two items: Charming original drawing of a seated cherub sketching a bear as a bird looks on, ink on a cream 3.5 x 2 card, signed “Yours, F. S. Church”; and a comical drawing of a bird in a hat, ink on an off-white 5 x 8 sheet, signed “Yours Respy., F. S. Church.” Accompanied by an unsigned vintage novelty postcard photo of Church. Two horizontal folds (one through image), a few creases, and mild scattered soiling to second drawing, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
