Revisiting Thoreau

American essayist, humorist, author, and editor (1899–1985) best known for his longtime association with the New Yorker magazine and for his best-selling children’s classics Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little. TLS, one page, 7 x 10, New Yorker letterhead, October 3, 1968. White writes to Mr. Giamboy. In full: “I have written two Walden essays and don’t know which one you have in mind. Makes no difference, however, as neither of them has been published in a separate volume. One of them—or rather a part of one of them—was used as the Introduction to the Riverside Literature Series edition of Walden published by Houghton Mifflin in 1964….” In fine, clean condition. R&R COA.
