Description

Nobel Prize–winning British author (1865–1936) best known for such colorful classics as Just So Stories, Captains Courageous, and The Jungle Book. ALS, one 3.75 x 6 page mounted to a same-sized card, personal Burwash letterhead, June 7, 1928. In full: “This is to wish the ‘Mookerjee’ the best of luck in all her cruises and ports.” The vessel in question was evidently named after Hurree Chunder Mookerjee, a character in Kipling’s novel Kim. Matted with an image to an overall size of 7.5 x 15 In good to very good condition, with faint creases, light toning from matting, a few tiny spots, and ink somewhat faded but fully legible. R&R COA.
