1776 document from a signer of the Constitution

Signer of the U.S. Constitution from New Jersey (1723–1790) who also served as governor of that state. Partly printed DS, signed “Wil: Livingston,” one page, 12 x 13, September 6, 1776. An appointment for Abijah Holmes as justice of the peace in Cumberland County, New Jersey. Matted with an antique engraving to an overall size of 27.5 x 20. In good to very good condition, with document professionally silked on both sides, and intersecting folds with associated toning, small holes, and separations (now stabilized; vertical fold to first letter). The signature is otherwise dark and clear. R&R COA. Oversized.
