“Anyone who says he doesn’t like a pat on the head is either untruthful or a fool”
TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, March 14, 1963. Steinbeck writes to Norman S. Beier in New York City. In part: “Thank you ever so much for your very nice letter…. I was pleased to learn that you and Mrs. Beier derived so much enjoyment from ‘Travels with Charley.’ Anyone who says he doesn’t like a pat on the head is either untruthful or a fool….” A touch of mild wrinkling and faint vertical bend touching last name, otherwise fine condition.
