Partly printed DS as president, one page, 18 x 11, April 10, 1867. An appointment for S. A. Strickland as District Attorney of Nebraska. Countersigned by William Seward as secretary of state. The embossed paper seal remains intact at lower left. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (scattered separations with archival reinforcements to reverse; vertical separation through Seward’s first name; vertical fold to Johnson’s last name), wrinkles (one lightly touching first letter of Johnson’s name), and a hint of subtle soiling.
