Two items: TLS, signed “Jack Dempsey,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Jack Dempsey’s Restaurant letterhead, dated April 30, 1964. Dempsey inquires about purchasing a couple of photos from an admirer. In part, “Thank you…for your kind interest shown in offering to supply me with a copy of the photo just before the bout with Jess Willard. This would be the one you mention in particular which shows my hand before insertion in the glove.”; and a TLS, signed “Gene Tunney,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, dated August 21, 1974. Tunney sends congratulations on the birth of a new baby. In part, “It pleases me that you have named him for me…especially since he was born in Philadelphia, where I won the championship in 1926.” In fine condition, with mild shade of overall toning to Dempsey’s letter.
