American aviatrix (1901–1967) who set a number of notable aviation records in the 1930s. Accused of being a spy under the provisions of the 1938 Foreign Agents Registration Act, she was jailed for more than a year in 1942–43. Despite the support of such notables as Eddie Rickenbacker, Ingalls was never pardoned. Commemorative airmail cover with a printed cachet noting that the item was carried on Ingalls’s coast-to-coast flight, 6.5 x 3.5, signed in ink “Laura Ingalls,” adding the time, date, and distance of her flight. Accompanied by an unsigned vintage photo of Ingalls’s plane. In fine condition. R&R COA.
