Popular American entertainer (1879–1935) who cultivated an image as a wisecracking cowboy and earned worldwide renown for his mordant wit and skill at rope tricks. After a successful vaudeville career, including a stint as the one of the star attractions of the Ziegfeld Follies, Rogers made an easy transition to films and became one of the top box-office draws of the late 1920s and early 1930s. His career came to an untimely end when he died in a plane crash in Alaska along with pilot Wiley Post. Vintage pencil signature, “Will Rogers,” on an off-white 4.25 x 2.5 slip, affixed to a 5.25 x 4.5 off-white album page. In fine condition, with a stray pencil mark under signature, and mild rippling. R&R COA.
