Scarce ALS signed “Richd. F. Burton,” one page, 4.25 x 5, “Arabic” letterhead, December 13 [no year]. Burton writes to E. Erlen. In part: “Your map is very nice. I shall take the liberty of suggesting that the west … about Kilwa might be filled in from Baron Van der Decken’s map, especially Kilwa Kivinja. Only don’t adopt German spelling….” Intersecting folds, light wrinkles (just touching first name) and a hint of very subtle soiling, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
