Eminent and prolific Soviet composer (1891–1953) best known for his colorful, rhythmically vigorous works, including symphonies, operas, and much music for keyboard and chamber ensembles. Splendid AMQS on an ivory 8 x 5 sheet of Strand Palace Hotel, London letterhead, the opening theme of the final movement of his Piano Concerto No. 3, boldly signed in ink “Serge Prokofieff, 1932.” The sheet has been mounted to a larger card.
