Signer of the U.S. Constitution from Pennsylvania (1744–1800) and first governor of that state. Manuscript DS, signed “Tho. Mifflin,” one page on vellum, 15.5 x 13, September 30, 1790. A quitclaim deed for a parcel of land called “Bush Hill” issued to James Wallace. The embossed paper seal remains mostly intact at upper left. In good condition, with intersecting folds (diagonal fold to last name; pinholes at intersections) soiling, toning, and wrinkling. The signature is large, dark, and mostly unaffected. R&R COA.
