Hand-addressed and free franked cover, measuring 4.5 x 3 folded, addressed in Adams’s hand to “Benjamin Homans, J. E. Smith, And William Blagrove Esquires, Boston,” signed at the bottom “J. Adams,” and franked “Free” in the upper right corner. Manuscript postmark reads, “Quincy, Augt: 6th. 1810.” Also docketed on an inside panel “Letter of John Adams, Late President of U.S.A. Aug. 6th 1810,” in an unknown hand. In fine condition, with light toning along two vertical folds, one between initial and last name, and a few spots of trivial staining.
