Description

“I do not understand how I could have been so stupid as to overlook…the fact I was to be in Kansas City

TLS, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 6 x 8.25, Princeton University letterhead, May 18, 1905. Letter of apology for missing an engagement. In part, “I write to ask if you will not be kind enough to make my most humble apologies to the members of the Fortnightly Club for my failure to meet my engagement with them…I do not understand how I could have been so stupid as to overlook, at the time I selected that date, the fact I was to be in Kansas City…I can now only beg that the members of the Club will pardon my [sic] for my apparent discourtesy, which I am sure they will believe was entirely unintentional.” Some mild wrinkling, two spots of toning to left edge of first page, and some scattered soiling, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
