Unusual and early DS, signed “Jas Monroe,” one page, 14.75 x 12, March 26, 1802. Monroe, as governor of Virginia, grants 380 acres of land to Benjamin M. Cord. Signed at the bottom in black ink by Monroe. Framed to an overall size of 16 x 13. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, scattered light toning and soiling, a bit heavier along right edge, and scattered light wrinkling, lightly affecting the bold signature.
