In full: “I deeply appreciate your telegram of congratulations.” The “congratulations” may relate to a sneak preview of a scathing anti-Wilson article by Roosevelt, “Fourteen Scraps of Paper,” published in the Star two days later. Letter tipped to larger sheet at left edge, and faint intersecting folds (vertical fold lightly touching second “o” of last name), otherwise fine, clean condition.
