Arguably the greatest American playwright, he won the New York Drama Critics’ Circle award for The Glass Menagerie. Tennessee Williams also won two Pulitzer Prizes for Drama: A Streetcar Named Desire (1947) and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1954).
