In part: “With reference to the agreement … pursuant to which [we] loaned to you the services of Miss Jennifer Jones to portray the role of ‘Gwendolyn’ in the motion picture photoplay entitled ‘Beat the Devil’, … [we] assigned to David O. Selznick all of the right, title and interest … in and to the sum of $125,000…. Accordingly … you are hereby authorized and requested to pay said $125,000 to David O.
