American humorist and author (1894–1961) best known for such stories as “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” and for his distinctive, wittily captioned cartoon drawings published in the New Yorker. Vintage matte-finish 7 x 9 photo of a seated Thurber with his arm draped over a chair, signed in ink, “With best wishes, James Thurber.” A few dings and tiny, unobtrusive creases, otherwise fine condition.
