Description

Legendary “Golden Age” Hollywood producer (1899–1936). Thalberg’s larger-than-life personality was the basis for the character Monroe Stahr in Fitzgerald’s The Last Tycoon. DS, two pages, 8.5 x 10.5, October 16, 1929. Agreement between Thalberg and fellow MGM employees James Forbes, for Forbes’ suggestion of a song title “She’s Got the Boy Friend Blues,” as a name for a composition by Reggie Montgomery and George Ward. Forbes will receive one-third of the royalties payable to the songwriters. Signed on the second page by Thalberg, as well as by Forbes, Ward, and Montgomery. Trimmed top edges, paperclip impression to first page, and a few light creases, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
