Paul keeps his wheels greased as the Beatles complete work on Sgt. Pepper

DS, one page, 10 x 7.5, March 20, 1967. A receipt from R. Hardy & Son, Marylebone for gas, oil, and other expenses related to McCartney’s car. McCartney has signed his approval for payment in black ink. Matted and framed together with a later printing of a photo from a 1968 negative by Paul Saltzman to an overall size of 16.75 x 23.75. In the month McCartney signed this document, the Beatles were in the final stages of recording the album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band; the famous cover photo was shot on March 30. Intersecting folds (horizontal fold just touching bottom edge of signature), wrinkling and light oiling to right edge, and a few edge separations, otherwise fine condition.
