Description

Though known as a women’s rights leader, she also campaigned against slavery and in favor of temperance. Along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton she founded the American Equal Rights Association in 1866, and she spent the better part of her life trying to win voting rights for women in the United States. In 1920, 14 years after Anthony’s death, American women finally won the vote with the passage of the 19th Amendment. Ink signature, “Susan B. Anthony,” on an off-white slip, clipped from the closing of a letter, with a typed sentiment at top. Matted with a portrait of Anthony, to an overall size of 11 x 14. A mild shade of toning, a few small spots, and a crease to top left, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
