American major general who defended Bataan and Corregidor and who survived a stint as a prisoner of war from 1942–45. Two vintage matte-finish photos, one 5 x 7, one 8 x 10, each signed and inscribed in fountain pen “to Ruth Farris, J. M. Wainwright.” Accompanied by an unsigned photo of the original recipient.
