Ford the cartoon fan

Ford created the first inexpensive mass-produced automobile, the Model T, and revolutionized American industry by developing and refining assembly line manufacturing. TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, January 28, 1938. Letter to Helen Reid [owner of the New York Herald Tribune], thanking Mrs. Reid for sending him a recent cartoon by Jay Darling titled, “Our Memories Are So Short.” In part: “I have known Mr. Darling for years and admire the splendid work he has done. A few of his original cartoons hang in my office, where I shall place this latest one that you have kindly presented to me.” In fine condition, with a bit of light edge toning.
