Description

Partly printed DS as president, one page on vellum, 12.5 x 9.25, March 22, 1819. A grant for a parcel of land in Missouri issued to John Robinson, “late a private in Talbott’s Company Nineteenth Regiment … in pursuance of the Acts of Congress appropriate and granting Land to the Late Army of the United States, passed on and since the sixth day of May, 1812.” Attached to the seal at lower left is a printed slip reading, “A map of the Bounty Lands, and a description of this lot, its quality, situation, and timber, may be had by sending one dollar to the General Land Office.” Matted and framed with a color portrait to an overall size of 29.25 x 16.75. In very good condition, with scattered light soiling and wrinkling, heavy intersecting folds (away from signature), and slightly irregular adhesion to first two letters of signature.
