He’s a mean one: Karloff recording agreement for The Grinch

DS, four pages, 8.5 x 11, June 15, 1966. Agreement between Karloff and MGM Records for the “narration of certain literary material to be used in the production of phonograph records…from the soundtrack of the television show entitled ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas.’” Karloff will receive a royalty of 3% of the suggested retail price. Signed on the final page by Karloff, who has also added his initials sixteen times. Karloff gained a late career surge of American popularity when he narrated the made-for-television animated film of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. In fine condition, with a small rider stapled to first page, staple holes to top and expected handling wear. PSA/DNA Auction LOA and R&R COA.
