TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, December 6, 1909. Barton writes to General Roscoe G. Wells of the First Aid Association of America. In part: “I feel that it is not altogether the ‘fair weather’ that holds back your classes. I send you a copy of one of the many such notices that have been travelling about the country for the last few months. You must have seen them…. No one intends to do your work, but to kill it. They can easily get hold of the Y.M.C.A., in one or another quarter….” Barton also adds the handwritten sentiment “Affectionately but” to the closing. Intersecting mailing folds (vertical fold to one letter of first name), two marginal pinholes, and a few minor wrinkles, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
