Description

TLS signed “John Kennedy,” one page, 8 x 10.5, U.S. Senate letterhead, August 17, 1954. Kennedy writes to Mrs. William E. Barbour in Boston. In part: “Thank you for your communication in which you protest the action of the House of Representatives in disallowing all funds for the United Nations Technical Assistance Program. I am happy to inform you that the Senate Appropriations Committee has recommended $9,957,621 for this program which will cover the amount pledged by United States representatives to the United Nations as the United States share of the cost of conducting this program…. I did support on the Senate floor this appropriation for I believe, as you do, that this program has been an invaluable aid in promoting good relationships between this nation and those less fortunate….” Staple holes and just a touch of subtle handling wear, otherwise fine, fresh condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
