In part: “Thank you for your letter of March 29 concerning your interest in seeing some legislation introduced in the Congress which would honor the late President Eisenhower by using his likeness on a coin. I was pleased to know of your interest in this, and in this connection I thought you might like to have the enclosed copy of my newsletter for the coming week in which I discussed this matter….” The U.S. Mint produced the Eisenhower Dollar from 1971 to 1978.
