This item is illustrated in the standard references History of the ‘Free Franking’ of Mail in the United States by Edward Stern and American Autographs by Charles Hamilton. Close trimming to left and bottom edges, chip at top edge with expert repair (well away from writing), and faint postmark just touching first letter of signature, otherwise fine condition.
