In part: “The Postmaster General advises me that several petitions and letters have been received by the Post Office Department concerning the appointment of a postmaster at Lakewood, New Jersey, and that pending receipt of certain information from the Civil Service Commission no action can be taken relative to this appointment…. You may rest assured however that your interest … will be made a matter of record for most careful consideration at the proper time.” A notation in a different hand at the upper right corner states “H.R. 1776—Lend Lease Bill, ‘The Magna Carta of Human Liberty’—signed on the same day.” Light handling wear and additional notation as described above, otherwise fine condition.
