Description

Early partially printed DS, signed “M. V. Buren, atty.” and additionally docketed on the reverse “M. V. Buren,” one page, 8 x 5.75, September 17 [circa 1809]. A warrant issued against Hannah Gardenier “to answer unto Martin Van Buren in a plea of trespass on the case to his damage one hundred & fifty dollars.” The embossed paper seal remains intact at center left. Accompanied by a 19th-century engraving. In very good condition, with vertical folds (partial separations and associated toning; fold, with toning, lightly touching two letters of last name) and faint offsetting of seal touching text. The docketing signature on the reverse is clean and otherwise unaffected. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
