Partially printed DS as president, one page on vellum, 11.75 x 16.75, December 20, 1813. A grant for a parcel of land under the provisions of the 1790 act “Enabl[ing] the Officers of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment, to obtain titles to certain lands…,” issued to Benjamin Hough. The document bears intersecting storage folds (vertical fold through first name), light scattered soiling and wrinkling, and losses (evidently rodent-related) to the blank bottom margin and a few other locations, resulting in several missing words to text. The signature itself, however, is otherwise clear and clean, and easily rates fine. R&R COA.
