Curley calls in a favor to FDR’s son

Corrupt but popular longtime congressman, mayor of Boston, and Governor of Massachusetts. TLS, one page, 7.5 x 9.5, Office of the Mayor letterhead, September 14, 1933. Letter to Franklin Roosevelt’s son, James, regarding a job opportunity for a friend. In part, “To my mind he is entitled to decent consideration because of the work done by him in taking a stand and coming out for your father in the Primary Campaign.” Framed to an overall size of 9 x 11, and accompanied by a Curley for Senator campaign pin. In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds, one through final stroke of first name of signature. R&R COA.
