Vintage 8 x 10 heavy stock photo issued by Elvis Presley Enterprises in 1957, showing Elvis relaxing in a sports jacket, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint “To Don and Sally from Elvis Presley.” Accompanied by a typed letter of provenance from the original recipient of the photo, who obtained the photo while working at Fort Chaffee, where Presley spent four days of processing before leaving for Fort Hood. This gentleman would process Presley’s mail and had contact with Elvis on the day he received the photo. He writes, “I received a couple of letters for him; so, I decided to go see him and see if I could dispose of them before he left the post. I did talk to him personally for a few minutes…He took the letters and I exchanged them for a photo signed: To Don and Sally, from Elvis Presley.” In very good condition, with moderate contrast to last name of signature, some mild corner creases, and some scattered edge wear.
