American lawyer and statesman (1746–1825) who was a delegate to the 1787 Constitutional Convention and who ran unsuccessfully as the Federalist candidate for vice-president in 1800 and for president in 1804 and 1808. The book is in good condition, with wear and rubbing to covers, front cover detached, chipping to spine, and rear blank removed, all of the above remaining restorable.
