Description

Scarce fully signed copy of his history of Alcoholics Anonymous

Co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous (1895–1971), the treatment program which has helped millions of people recover from a disease long stigmatized and regarded as irreversible. Signed book: Alcoholics Anonymous Comes of Age. First edition. NY: Alcoholics Anonymous Publishing Company, 1957. Hardcover with dustjacket, 6 x 8.5, 335 pages. Signed and inscribed in ballpoint on the front free end page, “Dear Henry B—: For your constant friendship to AA, please have my great thanks, Ever yours, Bill Wilson, Nov/62.” A very subtle touch of edge wear and toning to jacket, otherwise a very fine, exceptionally preserved copy. Though Wilson’s signature is uncommon in any form, the anonymity that is one of the central tenets of AA makes his full signature a particular rarity. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
