Description

American Roman Catholic priest (1886–1948) best known for founding Boys Town, where he espoused an education-based approach to reforming “wayward” youths. He was immortalized onscreen by Spencer Tracy in the 1938 film Boys Town, for which Tracy won an Academy Award. Beige identification card, 3.75 x 2.5, filled out by Flanagan with his name, “Rt. Rev. Msgr. E. J. Flanagan,” his street, “Father Flanagan’s Boys Home,” and listing his city and emergency contacts, both being Boys Town. Matted and framed with a block of four Costa Rican postage stamps and a nice photo, to an overall size of 14 x 15.25. In fine condition. R&R COA.
