In part, “Order is taken this sixteenth day of February, 1720 by virtue and in pursuance of an Act lately passed in parliament entitled ‘An Act for Granting Aid to his Majesty by Land-Tax o be raised in Great Britain for the service of the year 1721.” The reverse of the document bears a written statement regarding interest paid upon the “principal sum of one thousand pounds mentioned in this order every three months to commence on the thirty first day of March.” Signed at the top in black ink by Walpole.
