Youngest brother of Napoleon (1784–1860) who reigned as King of Westphalia from 1807 to 1813. In 1803, he married Baltimore-born Elizabeth Patterson, though the union was annulled by his emperor brother. Jerome later served in several official positions in the Second Empire. LS in French, signed “Jerome Napoleon,” one page, 7.75 x 9.25, May 9, 1808. An untranslated letter to the Governor of French Guyana, mentioning the receipt of a previous communication. In very good condition, with a few small holes (one near but not touching signature), edge wear with a few small chips, and mild wrinkling and soiling. The signature is clean and unaffected. R&R COA.
