Glossy 8.5 x 12 photo of the artist seated at a wooden desk, staring into the camera as he displays one of his sculptures, boldly signed in red felt tip, “Picasso, 10.5.65.” The reverse bears a few notations and stamps, including “World Famed Artist, Cannes, France 1965” and “Picasso at Work, Doubleday, Nov. 20, 1964,” possibly indicating publication of this image. In the same month that he signed this photo, Picasso completed his model for one of his last major public commissions, the fifty-foot, 162-ton metal sculpture known affectionately as the “Chicago Picasso.” In fine condition, with scattered small creases, dings, and surface impressions, and neatly trimmed edges.
