Manuscript check, 7 x 4.25 on a sheet of Tennyson’s embossed personal letterhead, entirely written in Tennyson’s hand and signed “Tennyson,” payable to Octavian Blewitt, Esq. for $£5.5, March 5, 1864. Blewitt (1810–1884) was an author, editor, and Secretary of the Royal Literary Fund. Matted and framed with a large original period photo to an overall size of 11.25 x 16. In fine condition, with a few subtle bends, a hint of mild soiling, and ink cancellation strokes very slightly touching signature. R&R COA.
