Description

Sending his “Army” songs during World War II

TLS, one page, 7.25 x 11, November 7, 1942. Berlin writes to Nancy Katzenberg in Philadelphia. In full: “Through a mutual friend I heard of you, and I’m writing this note to say hello and wish you all sorts of good luck. I understand you’ve had a pretty tough time, but are keeping your chin up.” After signing, Berlin adds a handwritten postscript, which he signs with his initials: “I am sending you under seperate [sic] cover a set of my songs from the Army show.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. A few small spots to blank portion, otherwise fine, crisp condition. R&R COA.
