Italian race car driver. In 1916 he won both the Indy 500 and the driver’s championship. He raced little after that year. But in 1923 he was at Indy again, forced out of the race after 225 miles. He was killed in a crash at Brooklands in England when a tire blew and threw his car out of control. Vintage glossy 8 x 6 photo of Resta and his mechanic Bob Dehnke in his Peugeot, just before his race against T. C. Millman, signed in fountain pen, “Yours sincerely, Dario Resta - 1916.” In good condition, with tape repair to a complete bisecting horizontal separation, scattered light creasing, original news caption and collector’s notations on reverse, mounting remnants to top corners and light silvering to darker areas.
