Description

Esteemed American politician and orator (1782–1852) who was a longtime member of Congress and who served as Secretary of State under Harrison and Tyler. Free franked and hand-addressed mailing envelope, addressed in Webster’s hand to “Eden and Welder, Esq., Washington, D. C.,” and franked in the upper right corner, “Dan’l Webster, U. S. Senate.” Envelope also bears an April 26th New York postal cancellation. Double matted and framed with a portrait of Webster, to an overall size of 10.5 x 17.25. In fine condition, with some light toning and an expected ink cancellation mark through portion of franked signature. R&R COA.
