German admiral (1891–1980) who commanded the German navy during World War II and tendered Germany’s surrender to the Allies on May 7, 1945. He was later sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment at Nuremberg trials. Five items: vintage matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo, signed in fountain pen, “Dönitz”; and four FDCs, each signed in ink by Dönitz; three are also signed by from one to three others.
