Partially printed scalloped-top DS on vellum, signed “James K. Polk” as president and “James Buchanan” as Secretary of State, one page, 13 x 15, no date [1845–1849]. An unissued ship’s pass, evidently presigned for clerical convenience, bearing two nautical engravings. Folds (one touching Buchanan’s first name) and usual scattered mild wrinkling, otherwise very fine, extraordinarily bright and clean condition. A showy, first-rate specimen of a most uncommon presidential combination! LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
