Description

One giant shill for Chrysler: Armstrong signs a scarce product endorsement

Typed script for a Chrysler Corporation television spot in which Armstrong extols the virtues of the company’s sports coupes, including the Dodge Omni O-Twenty-Four, one page, 8.25 x 6.25, circa 1979, signed and inscribed in ballpoint, “To Morissa—Neil Armstrong.” The page is archivally dry-mounted to a same-sized piece of mat board. In very good condition, with horizontal crease through signature, scattered wrinkles and light soiling, and uneven toning from previous mounting in an adhesive photo album. The signature is bold and dark. A most unusual and ironic souvenir from the astronaut who, perhaps more than any other, came to shun publicity and cultivated an image of decorum and discretion in relation to his celebrity. COA Scott Cornish and R&R COA.
