Endorsing his Senate paycheck

Endorsed check, 7 x 2.75, drawn on the Office of Discount & Deposit of the Bank of the United States, filled out and signed in another hand, payable to Harrison for $100.00, May 28, 1828. Endorsed on the reverse in black ink, “W. H. Harrison, credit my account.” In very good condition, with stains and small areas of restoration and repair to edges and corners, central vertical fold, expected stamps and notations and a small hole under Harrison’s endorsement. Harrison served as a Senator from 1825 to 1828. As chairman of the Military and Militia Committees, he advocated an increase in pay for soldiers and an expansion of the Navy.
