Naughty or nice? Nixon sends Christmas wishes to future Watergate conspirator John Nidecker

TLS as president signed “R. N.,” one page, 7 x 9, White House letterhead, December 23, 1969. Letter to John E. Nidecker. In full, “While we have all grown used to thinking of you as ‘Rally John,’ it would appear that your talents have now earned an even more gratifying nickname for you. Your Santa Claus on Sunday and again last night embodied the very spirit of Christmas and I want you to know how much I appreciate the skill, the time and the effort you brought to the role. You were superb! Pat joins me in sending every good wish for Christmas and the New Year to you.” Nidecker was a presidential aide and an unindicted Watergate conspirator. In very fine condition. LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
